Auchan stores recall a batch of stuffed roast turkey. The labeling is false: they do not expire on January 28, but on December 28.
Labeling errors sometimes border on danger… Auchan stores are recalling a product on December 28. Their object: roast turkey stuffed with poultry liver and port, from the Maître Coq brand. The expiry date written on the packaging is incorrect.
The label states that the roasts will expire on January 28, 2017… one month later than the true expiration date. A careless mistake that now needs to be rectified. The lot concerned bears the number 6350; this is printed on the 800 gram cardboard packaging. Buyers are therefore invited to consume their roast turkey this Wednesday at the latest, or to return the product, which will be refunded.
A risk of infection
In total, around twenty Auchan stores are affected by this recall. Consumers who would like more information can contact 02 51 44 23 16 or send an email to qualite.maitrecoq@arrive.fr.
This reminder is not to be taken lightly. When eaten after its expiration date, meat can cause food poisoning. The risk is particularly high with poultry. The symptoms are mainly manifested by an outbreak of fever, diarrhea and vomiting in the hours following the meal.
