This winter, pharmacists from the four Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Hauts-de-France and Occitanie regions received authorization from the Ministry of Health to immunize their clients against influenza. An experiment which seems to have met with great success since a large number of pharmacies are now out of stock when these stocks had been increased by 10% compared to last year.
With 9 million vaccines sold, 80% of the doses have already been sold according to the Directorate General of Health. These are 2 million more doses than during the vaccination campaign from last winter.
Redistribution of vaccines planned for Europe
THE’flu epidemic Being in its very early stages, between 200,000 and 300,000 vaccines that were planned for export will eventually be redistributed in French pharmacies. The Sanofi-Pasteur laboratory simply has to translate the instructions for use intended for the European market into French.
All people who have not yet been vaccinated will be able to go, either to their doctor or to their pharmacist, to protect themselves against the virus.
Last week, the flu-like consultation rate was 46 per 100,000 population. A slight increase in activity but which is not yet very strong. Remember that you have to wait a fortnight for the vaccine against influenza take full effect.
