The boss of Stellantis, Carlos Tavares, will wait until the end of the year 2021 to present the roadmap of the fourteen brands of the group, but he releases snippets of information as and when his interventions. On the occasion of the presentation of the results for the first half of 2021, he thus confirmed that from 2024 the new models would be 100 % electric. It is precisely on this date that the brand will launch, according to internal sources, the “zero emission” version of the new compact sedan DS 4. A variant that was not planned during the development of the D41 project but which is now in place. as part of Stellantis’ electrification strategy.
A range of six models
Carlos Tavares also confirmed that the DS range will eventually include four models in addition to the new DS 4 and DS 9. Among them is the new DS 7 Crossback, which will be developed on the STLA Medium basis inaugurated by the future Peugeot 3008 and whose launch is scheduled for the end of 2023. The premium SUV will be restyled in 2022 then renewed in 2025 to become 100% electric. The replacement for the DS 3 Crossback will follow around 2026 in the urban SUV segment, which will benefit from the new STLA Small platform scheduled for that date. Two more vehicles are missing. According to our information, the manufacturer has endorsed the project of a compact SUV-coupe, internally called P85. A silhouette that the manufacturer had deflowered with the Aero Sport Lounge concept in spring 2020. As for the last of the bunch, DS has launched a study for a compact seven-seater SUV bearing the code P95. In both cases, DS’s styling director, Thierry Métroz, sets out to reinvent the SUV.
