To help you more easily find a driving school suited to your needs, Road Safety has just put a new map of certified training courses online. A launch that continues the gradual transition of the industry into the digital age.
Do you want to get your license soon, but you do not yet know which driving school to turn to? To help you choose, Road Safety has just launched a new service. It takes the form of a interactive online map, which only groups together establishments that have received the “quality driving school” label near you.
Issued for three years, this certificate analyzes 23 criteria in order to ensure that “ the school provides quality training and provides clear and precise information “. Delegates and driving license inspectors are then responsible for ensuring regular checks. But beware: only establishments that request it can benefit from this label. When one of them does not receive it, it does not necessarily mean that he is offering poor quality education.
Information lacking in precision
Thus, the new map does not claim to draw up an exhaustive list of all driving schools in France. Unlike the recent official comparator of technical controls, it also gives no indication of the prices charged. As there is no telephone number or link to the school’s official website, the information given is still lacking in precision at this time. Those with a tight budget will however be able to tick the box “associative driving school”, a type of establishment less expensive but very rare, or “allowed for one euro per day”. Remember that this device is in the form of a loan, the interest of which is borne by the State. You can also carry out your research according to the type of license sought: car, motorcycle or heavy goods vehicle.
The RDVPermis online platform is growing
With the arrival of this card, the driver training sector is continuing its slow conversion to digital. At the same time, Road Safety continues the generalization of RDVPermis, the platform which makes it possible to reserve places online for the practical exam of the license. Six new departments in the South-East will adopt it from 1er September: Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Vaucluse. This will bring the total to 23 departments. But, according to a survey commissioned by Permismag with driving schools that have already adopted it, this system is far from unanimous. Almost three quarters of respondents are in fact dissatisfied, in particular because of the time they would waste on this reservation platform and the conditions for allocating places which are sometimes questionable.
