I always have an easy bowel movement an hour after getting up. However, for the past six months I have had to go to the toilet again. How did that happen? I am a 45 year old man.

The initiation of a bowel movement does not only depend on the filling of the intestine, but also on a kind of biological clock; like hunger pangs or drowsiness. There is also a lot of psychology involved. Most people want to go to the bathroom before going to work, or before taking a shower. I find it more amazing that things can go so well than that sometimes irregularities creep in. If you find it inconvenient, it is best to wait a little longer before going to the bathroom and then ignore any slight urges; the rest in the abdomen will probably recover on its own.
