Detox: beware of cheap steaks
Eh yes ! We would almost end up forgetting it, but the animals that we find on our plates are mostly herbivores. However, in order for the cattle to grow faster and to increase their profitability, some breeders feed the animals with cereals. A study by researchers at Clemson University in the United States showed that the nutritional intakes of animals, especially grain-fed beef, were much lower than those of grass-fed animals. You will find less vitamin E, beta carotene, omega 3, of calcium and potassium in grain-fed beef. In addition, this type of meat contains more saturated fat and therefore represents a greater risk of heart problems for the consumer.

Detox: yes with organic potatoes
Vegetables grown in the land are subject to many chemicals – herbicides, pesticides and more – necessary to protect them from insects and diseases that might affect them before harvest. The potato is one of the vegetables which undergo the most treatments: they are first treated with fungicides, then herbicides and finally they are treated one last time after harvest to prevent the growth of sprouts. All these products are obviously harmful to health and the fact of passing the potatoes under water before cooking them is not enough to remove the chemical residues. It is therefore preferable to consume potatoes from organic farming.

Detox: bite into organic apples
Like most fruits, apples are regularly treated with pesticides. The difference is that apples undergo much more intensive chemical treatments than other fruits, which is necessary to protect them from insects.
