The association for the fight against AIDS “Aids” is mobilizing against mobile dating applications such as Tinder or Grinder because they would promote the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, explains the Daily Mail. She is launching in an advertising campaign in the streets of Los Angeles. “The next sexual encounter is a few meters away, so is the next STI,” said the director of the NGO’s public health division, Whitney Engeran-Cordova.
These statements confirm the conclusions of a study carried out by the Ministry of Health of theState of Rhode Island in the USA. Published in May 2015, it revealed that mobile dating applications promote the development of STIs (sexually transmitted infections). The researchers found that since the appearance on the net of these two applications, HIV contamination has increased by 33% in Rhode Island, that of syphilis by 79% and urinary tract infections have increased by 30%.
Essential prevention
The condom should never be forgotten during sex until both partners have been tested. It is the only effective way to protect yourself from sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
To recall this gesture of good health behavior, the Brazilian Ministry of Health took matters into its own hands and reacted to the dating applications. Indeed, he created five fake profiles on Tinder to educate users. When two people are talking to each other, an automatic message is displayed on the screen: “Be careful, it is difficult to know who is carrying HIV. Have fun but take care of yourself. Or try to trap the malicious ones. “Seeks to meet men and women for relationships without commitments, preferably without a condom” and are accompanied by tempting photos to attract the unconscious.
