The rush for Covid-19 tests has led to long queues… So to shorten the deadlines, Olivier Véran signed an order to expand the medical staff authorized to carry out coronavirus tests, inform BFM.
While following deconfinement, the tests carried out were of the order of 250,000 per week on French territory, they recently rose to 400,000 as departures on vacation approached, indicated the Minister of Health. .
Health students, first aiders, laboratory technicians…
If, on paper, France is able to practice 700,000 nasopharyngeal samples per week, in practice, only about 390,000 examinations are carried out due to the lack of arms. Result: some regions, in particular Ile-de-France, are experiencing bottlenecks at the door of laboratories. It is for this reason that the minister has decided to open up the practice of testing to more health personnel.
Until now, the tests are carried out either in the hospital, or in the laboratory, at home by a mobile team or even in the drive laboratories. The screening locations will not change, but there will be more of those who will practice them: laboratory technicians, nursing assistants, health students, as well as first aiders will have the right to practice them
