A first in France which will be quickly followed by other industrial operations and which should make it possible to produce, in total, 250 million doses of vaccines in France for the year 2021.
Pfizer vaccine produced in Eure-et-Loir
France will produce its first vaccines against Covid-19 on its territory. And it is the factory of the subcontractor Delpharm in the city of Saint-Rémy-sur-Avre in Eure-et-Loir which will start the production of vaccines from this Wednesday April 7, 2021. It will be about DNA messenger vaccines developed by Pfizer / BioNTech. After being packaged, the doses of Pfizer vaccine will then be sent to European logistics platforms to be redistributed according to the vaccination plan drawn up by Brussels.
Moderna vaccine produced in Indre-et-Loire
As for the vaccine developed by Moderna, it will also be packaged on the horizon from mid-April on the site of the Swedish pharmaceutical group of Recipharm, at the Monts en Indre-et-Loire plant.
Curevac vaccine produced in Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Eure
With regard to the CureVac vaccine, produced in Germany, it will be the sites of the subcontracting group Fareva in Idron, near Pau in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region and in Val-de-Reuil in the Eure region which, which will put the doses of vaccine in vials from the end of May / beginning of June and as soon as this new vaccine has received its European approval.
Johnson & Johnson vaccine produced in the Rhône
Finally, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine developed by Janssen will be packaged in Marcy-l’Étoile, near Lyon in the Rhône by the French laboratory Sanofi. Delivery of the doses is scheduled from April 19.
Objective: 250 million doses in France in 2021
In total, France has set itself the goal of producing 250 million doses of vaccine against Covid-19 on its territory in 2021. According to the European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton, Europe will be in capacity, to here the end of the year, to produce ” 3 billion doses per year, compared to 2 billion for the United States “. In the meantime, 53 French sites are involved in the vaccine production chain.
