According to figures collected in Great Britain, where vaccination against Covid-19 is much more advanced than in France, indicating that one is immune on one’s profile makes it more popular on dating applications.
- On dating apps, people who answered “yes” to the question “are you going to get vaccinated?” receive 25% more likes than those who answered “no”.
- In France, young people, the main users of these applications, are not yet affected by the vaccination campaign
Getting vaccinated would make it easier to “match” on dating apps, according to figures from Hinge.
According to a new UK report, dating apps are seeing a surge in the number of users bragging about having been vaccinated against Covid-19, mentioning it in their profile.
The number of people mentioning that they have been vaccinated has increased by 258%
Tinder reports that between September and December 2020, when vaccines began to become available, the number of people mentioning that they had been vaccinated increased by 258%. In the same dynamic, OKCupid saw vaccination indications explode by 137% between November 2020 and January 2021. Ditto for Bumble and Hinge.
And this is not disinterested. According to a representative of the dating app Hinge, people who responded “Yes” at the question “are you going to get vaccinated?” receive 25% more likes than those who replied “no”.
“People feel less stressed having sex with me”
Mention your vaccination status on an app “made people feel less stressed about having sex with me during a pandemic,” analyzes a user in the washington post.
Since the start of the coronavirus vaccination campaign in France, 2,347,088 first vaccine injections (i.e. 3.5% of the total population and 4.4% of the adult population) and 815,547 second injections have been carried out. Young people are not yet affected by this campaign, but the government assures that all French people, whatever their age, will have had the opportunity to be vaccinated “before the end of the summer”.
