In a press release published on March 20, Doctolib, a French medical start-up has announced a fundraising of 150 million euros. That makes her a unicorn, that is, she’s worth over a billion euros.
While it had already raised 61 million euros in 2017, Doctolib is starting again in March 2019 with 150 million. This last lift makes it pass to the rank of unicorn, like Uber or Blablacar for example.
Doctolib, a big medical machine
Created in 2013 by Stanislas Niox-Château, Doctolib has experienced a dizzying rise in recent years. Leader in online medical appointment booking in Europe, Doctolib has also been enabling teleconsultations since January 2019. Some, under certain conditions, are even covered by Social Security.
It is now present in France and Germany, it has approximately 75,000 registered practitioners and 1,400 health establishments. Each month, Doctolib sees around 30 million online appointments made.
The objective of this fundraising? See even bigger. The start-up wants to accelerate the deployment of its teleconsultation service, to continue to deploy in France and Germany. And of course, start to set up in new countries.
