In Italy, a news item has been causing a stir since this weekend. Francesco, a 7 year old boy, fell into a coma and died of a bilateral ear infection treated with homeopathy. His parents, traders near Ancona, explained that their son had been treated only with homeopathy since the age of three and that previous ear infections had been treated in this way without any consequence.
The infection caused extensive damage to the brain
When the little boy fell ill a fortnight ago, the parents turned to their homeopath who has been following the child for several years. However, the child grew weaker and weaker, suffering from a fever that came and went.
On the night of May 23, the young boy lost consciousness. The parents immediately took him to the hospital where a CT scan revealed severe brain damage. Doctors started shock therapy antibiotics, but the clinical condition of the child left no hope. Francesco quickly fell into a severe comatose state and was then declared brain dead.
