Illness, fatigue, dull complexion, falling eyelashes and eyebrows, enough to discourage being flirtatious. Yet the medical corrective makeup is beneficial for psychological state. This is evidenced by the success of make-up workshops carried out by socio-beauticians in treatment and treatment centres. Here are three tips for regaining self-confidence.
Enhance your complexion
The dull and greyish complexion, linked to a vascular problem, can easily be masked. The gestures must remain simple and easy to perform, because “often these patients have long given up makeup“, specifies Clémentine, socio-esthetician at the spa resort of La Roche-Posay. You can use a tinted cream or a fluid foundation.
“If the complexion has turned olive or gray, choose a pink undertone, and add a pinkish beige good-looking powder or a colored lip balm on the cheeks.“, explains Joëlle Nonni, head of the skin health education workshops at the Avène thermal baths. “But when an acneiform rash appears, we adopt a fluid corrective foundation that we blur by tapping with a sponge, slightly darker than the complexion.“If you want to go further and really “hide” your illness, you complete with a concealer, choosing the opposite color on the chromatic scale to that of the imperfections and applying it locally by tapping with your fingertip : green in case of redness, pink on orange dark circles, yellow for purplish blue dark circles, golden/apricot if they are dark.
Emphasize the look
When the eyelashes and eyebrows have fallen out following the treatment, the look is radically changed. “Eyes without eyelashes or eyebrows appear round, it is necessary to restore depth to the look. To do this, learn to draw a line of black pencil – or gray or brown if you want to soften the line – along the eyelashes, starting from the outer area of the eye inwards, without going all the way to the end“, explains Clémentine, the socio-esthetician. If you really want to look made up, you complete with a light iridescent eyeshadow on the mobile eyelid or just on the inner corner for a point of light.
Eyebrows, an important point
Like the hair, the eyebrows fall out during the treatments, modifying the physiognomy of the face. Joëlle Nonni recommends “to take a picture of their eyes before the start of treatments to learn how to shape their eyebrows before they fall out. It’s both easier when they are still there and it allows you to respect their natural line that we will have integrated.”
There are all kinds of eyebrow shadows to recreate a line that looks the least artificial possible. The simplest method is to use an eyebrow stencil in which you apply a specific shadow. Another method consists in choosing an eyebrow pencil of a color close to her hair. Besides makeup, a wig or a turban can also restore self-confidence after hair loss.
