The short answer is no, BUT… with this workaround you can!
How cool would it be if you could watch Netflix on your Nintendo Switch? There is a Netflix app available for just about all your devices. In the past, for example, for the NIntendo Wii and the Wii U. Netflix apps were also available for handheld consoles such as the Nintendo 2DS and the Nintendo 3DS.
However, there is currently no Netflix app available for a Nintendo console. At least not in the official Nintendo eShop. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible, of course.
Netflix on your Nintendo Switch
It may not be easy, but we like a little challenge in life. The website Android Authority explains how it is possible. The basis lies in installing Android OS on your Switch. Nintendo does not officially support this, so we officially advise against doing so. But it is possible if you are handy and if you really want to. So take advantage of it if you can.
On the XDA-developers forum you will find a tutorial to read step by step how to get Android OS on your Nintendo Switch.
Once installed, your Nintendo Switch will be like an Android tablet. That means that you can just go to the Google Play Store and download Netflix. (And of course also apps like Spotify and Twitch)
Not without risk
There are, of course, always risks associated with this installation. It can affect your battery life and not all buttons will work in all apps. But on the other hand, there are already a lot of users who now have Android OS running on their Nintendo Switch and are happy to use it.
Is this all over your head? YouTube does have an app in the Nintendo eShop, at least you can watch cat videos.
