How to choose between the bath or the shower? Protecting our water resources should settle the issue in adulthood. But the intimate relationship with the bath is more complex than it seems. And the main thing is to wash!
Ecological argument first.
If you are convinced, like most defenders of the environment, that the next world war will be that of water… then there will be no choice!
With 150 to 200 litersfor a bath, against 50 to 80for the shower, the problem is quickly solved.
Then there is the purpose beyond hygiene.
The bath relax and the shower, tones.
For the bath, psychiatrists say it’s a moment that brings us back to the life of a fetus in the warm comfort of the liquid contained in mom’s placenta. Moreover, some bath lovers tell you that the ideal temperature is 37° C.
Doctors advise, however, rather 1 to 2 degrees less.
Other precautions: no more than one bath per day and for a duration not exceeding 20 minutes. Beyond that, it is the tone of your skin that could suffer.
The shower does not have the same disadvantages. It does not exceed a few minutes because, unlike the bath, it is difficult – theoretically – to do anything other than wash!
Bath or shower, a problem arises at the end of early childhood: mothers fear having to make the decision to let their child wash alone. They can be reassured, this decision, they will not have to take it, it is always the modesty of the child which decides one day that the bathroom must become private.
If one devotes the first years of one’s life to the bath, one should consider the shower for the last ones.
Getting in and out of the tub often results in serious falls. The decision to transform your bathtub into a large shower, where you can hold on to bars and sit on a stool, is a decision taken by older couples, often too late.
Bath or shower, it doesn’t matter, the main thing, the doctor will tell you, is to wash, all days, which – it seems – 1 out of 3 French people do not do.
The opportunity to debunk a rumour, which claims that the natural protective elements secreted by our skin must be respected.
Be aware that grime and maceration are dangers, in addition to odor, far more serious than the inconveniences of using soap.
