My husband (73) and I (71) take vitamin D every day. We use ten drops a day, so no capsules. We live healthy and do not use drugs.
Now I may want to switch to capsules, but something is holding me back. I heard that the gelatin in which the capsules are packed is not easy to digest. What would you advise us?

Vitamin D supplements come in different forms. Whether you take tablets, drops or capsules: it does not matter for the effect. The active ingredient (cholecalciferol, or vitamin D3) is always well absorbed. Vitamin D plays a vital role in keeping bones and muscles healthy. As we get older, we get less of it and we make less of it.
Gelatin packaging
Gelatin has an animal origin. That’s one reason why some people don’t use it because of religion. Vegetarians and vegans also do not use gelatin.
You don’t have to worry about digesting it. Gelatin dissolves and the vitamin D can therefore be absorbed well.
