Apple is reportedly planning its first event on March 8, where the company will announce the new iPhone SE and iPad Air, among other things.
This event will take place digitally, because the pandemic does not yet offer room for a safe environment in which many people, from many places, come together. Usually, Apple invites members of the press and various partners from different parts of America or from different countries, but that’s not an option now.
‘Apple event on March 8’
The date of the event may be postponed. The problems in the supply chain have not yet been solved. Many technology companies are mainly shy about processors, which take a very long time. If new products are delayed, Apple can therefore decide to push the event back.
Which products are involved then? Bloomberg writes that we can expect the new iPhone SE, a compact Apple smartphone, and iPad Air, a very thin tablet. Both products will reportedly get an Apple-developed A15 processor and support for 5G networks.
In addition, the iOS 15.4 update (the operating system that is present on iPhones) will probably be released in mid-March, so that some attention will be reserved for it. Finally, a new Mac is also expected, which runs on Apple Silicon. That is the processor that Apple developed itself. Unfortunately, little further details are available about the remaining products.
