A 17-year-old American girl made the buzz on the Internet with a photoshoot in which she appeared hairless. Touched by cancer, despite everything, she remains as beautiful as a princess.
When the disease loses its fight against beauty. This is the story ofAndrea Sierra Salazar, a young woman residing in McAllen, Texas. Originally from Saltillo (Mexico), she is currently making the buzz on the Internet thanks to her photos where she poses without hair in a princess outfit.
It must be said that the 17-year-old girl has been suffering from stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma since February 2016. This blood cancer is characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal white blood cells which provide immune defense: lymphocytes. This pathology, the most common in adolescents and young adults, has terribly affected the young model.
For example, she saw her long black hair fall out because of her treatment, chemotherapy, started to overcome the tumor. As she began to lose confidence in herself, her mother had the brilliant idea of organizing a photoshoot for her so that she would always feel beautiful, with or without hair.
A buzz on the Internet
A photographer, Gerardo Garmendia, did not hesitate for a moment, and immortalized the sublime beauty of this young girl, without a wig. All in a fairytale setting. Andrea thus posed wearing a vaporous dress embroidered with stones.
Now, the teenager is once again feeling good about herself and her head. And she wants to give hope to other patients, especially the youngest. “The hair on a person’s head does not define it. All the girls are princesses and today I feel beautiful inside and out ”, she explains on his Facebook account which has nearly 4,500 subscriberss.
On Twitter, the buzz is identical since her photos have been liked more than 200,000 times with the slogan: “Cancer does not prevent me from being a princess!” »Finally, the young woman even realized the dream of her life, by appearing on the site of Teen Vogue.
