After the A110 Pantone X, offered in three copies, Alpine today unveils new “art cars” that are much less concrete: on the basis of the GTA concept imagined by a Russian designer at the start of the year, five unique virtual liveries can be purchased with cryptocurrency.
With its radicalized berlinetta look, the Alpine GTA Concept has caught the eye of many Internet users. Many would have loved to see this creation by Russian designer Arseny Kostromin come true. But with its 500 hp flat-six, it doesn’t really match the Dieppe brand’s all-electric projects. This does not prevent the manufacturer from giving a new spotlight on this amateur project today, by attacking fans of the “crypto art” sector at the same time. Some collectors are indeed now setting their sights on 100% virtual objects that they are the only ones to own. We then speak of NFT (Non Fongible Token) or non-fungible token in French. Based on the Alpine GTA Concept, five unique liveries will thus be offered for auction.

Five unique dresses with a variety of styles

The first of these decorations is inspired by the A521, the single-seater entered by the Alpine F1 Team in Formula 1. We therefore find the marriage of red, blue and black used in racing. The second of these new kind of “art cars” receives a mat black dress, with a capital A on the sides, and the third reinterprets the colors of the French flag in its own way. A good way to remember that the brand produces its only current model, the A110, in France. The fourth livery makes reference to the origins of the name Alpine, in particular by displaying the GPS coordinates of Mont Blanc and cartographic motifs. A pair of 3D glasses will be necessary to discover all the subtleties. Finally, the fifth of these Alpine GTAs is the closest to Arseny Kostromin’s initial design since it is entirely adorned in Alpine blue.
Also controllable in the REVV video game

The auctions will take place on the specialized platform OpenSea.io between Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. and Friday, November 5, 2021 at 3 a.m. To participate, it will be mandatory to hold a cryptocurrency wallet, the most famous of which is the famous bitcoin. No estimate is given: these virtual Alpine could very well be more expensive than the A110 X Pantone, another “art car”, this time very real, offered at € 125,000 by the brand last May. But the GTA Concept will also open up to a wider audience by landing in the REVV video game. A title more arcade-style than pure simulation, which has the particularity of being based on the “blokchain”, this data security technology which also allowed the birth of NFTs. Failing to leave the virtual world, the creation of Arseny Kostromin can therefore at least be piloted by thousands of players.
