Since July 1, 2015, food manufacturers and restaurateurs must mention the presence of a certain number of allergens in their products. But shopping and eating out still require great vigilance for people with food allergies or intolerances.
The site AllergoBox allows you to find products adapted to each person, in supermarkets as well as in restaurants. Pictograms ranging from green to red provide information on the presence in a product of main allergens (cow’s milk, gluten, nuts, eggs, soybeans, peanuts …) as well as their derivatives.
Created by two young fathers whose children are affected by allergies, the site is completely free. Information on the products concerned is written by allergists or pediatricians.
A personalized profile
To use this site, you must create a profile where you can fill in your allergies or intolerances. With this information, it is then possible to find products that are 100% adapted to your health.
Everyday consumer products, dishes that can be ordered in major restaurant chains and recipes for eating well with peace of mind are all information found on AllergoBox.com.
Faced with the success of the site launched in 2014, a mobile application will be available during the summer of 2015 and will notably make it possible to scan food bar codes while shopping.
