This mild, sunny weather is favorable for pollens. The south of France has a very high allergy risk linked to cypress pollen.
The last days will be exceptionally mild in France. Particularly in the south of France where 25 degrees are reached in the Landes and Roussillon. These temperatures are well above normal and spring arrives 10 days early. Good news ? It depends for whom …
In its last allergo-pollen bulletin published this Friday, the RNSA network (1) recalls that this sunny weather is favorable to pollens which are released in large quantities. A record will even be broken in Avignon this week with more than 35,000 pollen grains counted! Allergics will therefore not dance on the bridges … And allergists will surely advise these patients to stay at home.
Follow your treatment
Overall, the whole of the south of France remains at a very high allergy risk linked to cypress pollen. Like the storm “Zeus”, alder pollen also crosses the country from East to West. They are present throughout the territory but with an average risk of allergy.
Ash pollens are found over a large part of the territory and are on the increase. Also watch out for willows and hornbeams that have started flowering. Finally, hazelnut pollens are gradually leaving us and will only be responsible for a low risk in eastern France.
Except that one threat chases another, since these pollens give way to their cousins from the same family, the birch pollens which will arrive in the last decade of March in Montluçon and Lyon according to the forecast model of Météo-France produced in partnership with the RNSA. During the next few days, allergy sufferers must therefore remain vigilant and follow their treatment properly or consult their doctor.
