Due to the spring conditions of the past few days, three -quarters of the country have faced a high risk of allergy to pollens, according to the RNSA.
- Three -quarters of the country record a high risk of pollens allergy.
- The rates of pollens of tax-taxaceae as well as those of hazelnuts and alders are very important.
- 20 % of children from 9 years old and 30 % of adults are allergic to pollens.
Between the softer temperatures and the more present sun, the French had a spring of spring this week. The back of the medal? Pollens allergies have increased sharply. The National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA) ranked three -quarters of France in high risk during its Last update of February 19, 2025.
Allergy to Pollens: a risk that progressed very quickly in a few days
The spring and winding weather conditions of the last days have favored the emission and dispersion of pollens. If at the start of the week, only 30 departments in the Mediterranean and southwest were a high risk of pollen allergy, three-quarters of the country are now in the red, three days later. Only allergies to Pollens in Brittany and in the north of France can breathe without too much difficulty. The risk of allergy is, in fact, classified average in these regions.
Cupressaceae-taxaceae pollens (cypress, thuyas, juniper) are the main those responsible for allergic crises in the Southwest to the south-east of the country. “They are accompanied by ash pollens with a risk of average allergy”warns the RNSA in its report.
In full bloom, hazelnuts and alders (family of Betulacées) are not to be outdone with a risk of high level allergy throughout the territory. “Only the northwest of the country is at risk of average allergy for these pollens, but the risk will be able to quickly go up in the coming days”indicate the experts.
And as at the start of the week, flower mimosas can promote local allergies in the south.
☀️ Ah, it smells of spring ????
But beware of allergies ????????
The risk of allergy is raised at the moment on 3/4 of the country with the Pollens of Hazelnut, alder, cypress and ash that wandered in the air ???? ️

Pollens allergies: What are the symptoms?
Pollens allergy concerns 20 % of children from 9 years old and 30 % of adults. Symptoms generally appear for a few minutes to 2 or 3 hours after contact with the allergen via the eyes or respiratory tract (nose, mouth). The most frequent are:
- tearful or spicy eyes;
- A runny or clogged nose;
- an irritated throat;
- A whistling breathing or a cough.
“Some air chemical pollutants can change the allergic reaction by acting either on pollen grains or directly on patients. Thus, symptoms of allergy can be greater in the event of an episode of pollution”warns the Ministry of Health on its site.
