Allergies to ragweed are back in much of France. In full bloom, the plant will release significant amounts of pollen into the air.
Runny nose, red eyes, repeated sneezing, allergy sufferers thought they’d be rid of them. But it was a false joy. In its last newsletter published a few days ago, the RNSA (1) notes that the quantities of ragweed pollen have increased sharply in recent days. This over a large part of France.
Until Friday August 26, the risk of allergy will be “high” to “very high” on the side of Roussillon, Lyon, Valence and Grenoble. And in Loire and Ain, the risk is for the moment moderate “but it could quickly pass to the next level”, warns Charlotte Sindt, director of the RNSA.
Sheltered regions
Allergic people who want a little respite should therefore choose “the rest of the Rhône-Alpes – Auvergne region (except Lyon), where the risk is very low to low, just like in Poitou-Charentes and in the north of the PACA regions, Languedoc-Roussillon and Aquitaine ”, advises the RNSA.
Finally, concerning the other pollens, those of grasses, urticaceae and mugwort, they are present over a very large part of the territory but should only bother the most sensitive. Allergic to ragweed pollen must follow the prescribed treatments.
