What about home help? What help to ask for? How to choose a retirement home? What solutions for living at home with Alzheimer’s disease? These are some of the questions that the government’s new national information portal is working to answer. The objective is to guide the French confronted directly or in their entourage with the loss of autonomy.
The site www.pour-les-personnes-agees.gouv.fr in particular offers videos to concretely illustrate the steps to be taken to obtain assistance or resolve Autonomy loss (Alzheimer’s disease for example).
A directory is also available. It identifies “the local information points dedicated to the elderly, medical establishments and services”, explains the site.
A simulator for accommodation in EHPAD
For accommodation in EHPAD (accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people), these nursing homes, the portal has set up a simulator which makes it possible to estimate the amount of the remainder to be paid each month, after deduction. APA (personalized autonomy allowance) and housing assistance.
French people who would like to benefit from the information on this national portal without going through the Internet can always reach telephone advisers from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 0820 10 39 39 (€ 0.15 including tax per minute).
