The British are also switching to electricity
Although the United Kingdom is no longer allowed to attend the European Union’s birthday party, they are fairly similar when it comes to the transition to electric driving. They do not want to sell petrol and diesel cars without hybrid assistants by 2030. In 2035, the new sales of petrol cars and diesels will also be completely banned there. Of course, something still needs to be done for that. That is why it is mandatory in the UK to provide every new home with a charging station.
During a conference of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, will announce that every new-build home will have its own charging station. That reports Sky News. But this does not only apply to homes – other properties must also comply with this obligation. When renovating existing buildings, the contractor must install charging stations if there are more than ten parking spaces. The posts would cost just under 1,000 euros each.
The exact details of the plan to provide every new home with a charging station is unknown. There are quite a few hooks and eyes to think of. With a house without a driveway you have no guarantee that you can park in front of the door. Then you should run the cable over the sidewalk.
