In 1991 a game for the then graphical wonder computer Amiga appeared with a unique concept; the player could assign the game figures a task and had to ensure that a certain percentage reached the goal in one piece. The game immediately became immensely popular and in different variants more than 20 million copies have been sold. The name of that beauty? Lemmings, a reference to the voles that sometimes start a migration en masse. The online version DHTML Lemmings contains 10 exact replicas of levels from the original, combining entertainment with computer history.
