It’s funny how Microsoft puts all kinds of features in its operating system that are then found to be lacking by users, so that they look for alternatives. The Media Player is one such feature that many users ignore in favor of something more beautiful. VLC is a very popular alternative, but Voor Nops is still a favorite Daum Potplayer (CID 2013/20). This player not only plays everything (including downloaded Flash games!) but is also infinitely adjustable. A joy to work with!
