And again Instagram copies a frequently used feature from another app. Read here which one it is and whether it is of any use to you.
All major apps and websites do it: copy functions from each other. Now it’s hit again. At the moment BeReal is very hot and many young people download the app. Instagram sees this and comes up with ‘Candid Challenges’, which is really just exactly the same thing.
Instagram copies feature
This can indeed be a threat to BeReal. Insta has many users and thus can hijack downloads. According to the company, it is not yet certain whether the function will be available, at the moment it is an ‘internal prototype’.
BeReal is currently very popular among young people. You will receive notifications within the app at unexpected moments. Click on this and you have to take a photo within two minutes that will be placed within the app. Instagram’s currently unreleased feature was noticed by Alessandro Paluzzi. He is a developer known for reverse engineering apps and finding early versions of upcoming updates. An Instagram spokesperson confirmed they are testing this, but declined to provide additional details.

With this feature, users participating in the challenge will see a notification at a different time each day to take a photo of their surroundings. After getting the notification, Instagram camera will also open with both front and rear facing cameras. And users are given a two-minute window to take a photo. It will then be posted in the Stories.
Instagram is probably testing the feature right now and doesn’t know when they’ll launch it yet. Or they don’t want to tell. Usually, testing does mean integrating it within the app.
