Spotify presents a new way to get to know your friends’ music tastes through the Friends Mix playlist.
When you play such a list, you are listening to the music your friends love. Your own music taste may be in between, but in principle you may not hear anything about it.
The lists are automatically compiled by an algorithm, so no one really has to do anything for it. Otherwise, you can of course continue to share your own music manually.
The Spotify Friends Mix
The brand new playlist is available to everyone worldwide via the desktop app and on iOS. It also doesn’t matter if you pay for the service or are a free user: the list is available.
It’s not clear why Spotify chooses not to make the new playlist available for Android. But we assume that this will happen at a later time.
Streaming services can do their best to recommend content through all sorts of algorithms. But in many cases, friends’ recommendations are more personal and better.
Spotify is now simply trying to use that wealth of information to present users with new music. Meanwhile, the service also offers a unique feature.
