Science backs it up: men look “sexier” to women when they have a pet. A team of American researchers from various universities including that of Nevada (United States) carried out a survey to assess the place of the dog in terms of seduction. Of the panel of 1,210 participants, 61% of respondents were women.
Asked about the attractiveness of a single man depending on whether he owns a dog or not, women said they were twice as attracted to men with this pet. They would also be particularly attentive to the relationship maintained by the master with his dog.
A criterion of choice
The interaction of the man with his dog sends a signal to the women on which they will rely to consider a possible romantic relationship, underlines the study published in Anthrozoos magazine. The male attention given to the dog could be perceived as a reflection of the love that the man can have for the woman. In other words, if the owner behaves with gentleness and tenderness with his animal, there is a good chance that he will have the same loving behavior with his partner. For the woman, the human-animal relationship therefore appears as a criterion to help project herself with her future partner and envisage a lasting relationship, specifies the survey.
Man’s best friend would therefore be a good weapon of seduction. A trick that men looking for a partner could use to add to their “sex appeal”.
