So far, to find a doctor near you, only one solution (official): go to the online directory ofHealth Insurance through a computer connected to the Internet. Good news: today, this database is also available on a new mobile application, soberly called “The health directory of ameli”.
It can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store (for Android smartphones) and from Google Play (the store for iOS tools, like the iPhone). To launch a search, it’s easy: you select different criteria (prices, times, location…), you click on “search” and the app does the rest. In total, 70 specialties are referenced.
An easy to use and intuitive app
Once a doctor or establishment has been selected, the app indicates which medical acts are reimbursed by the Social Security (and how high), if the vital card is accepted, if fee overruns are to be expected, if it is possible to show up without an appointment…
And if all this suits us, the software gives us the useful coordinates (address, telephone number) and offers us a route, calculated after a geolocation of our position. You can also use the “Click to call” tool to contact the professional directly. Simple and intuitive: we say “yes”!
As a reminder, statistics estimate that 58% of French people turn to discussion forums when they are sick and that 49% of them even seek advice on Facebook*…
