But it’s not faster
Japan loves niches. Even niches have sub-niches there. For lovers of the crazy stuff, it’s a good day. This is the Nissan Note Aura Nismo – a hot mini MPV. It is based on the thicker equipped Note Aura. You can also just say New Nissan Note Nismo, that alliterates just a little better. According to Nissan, the new body kit actually generates downforce – although they do not want to say how much. Just look at that thick spoiler on the tailgate.
No extra power
The revamped hatchback focuses mainly on road holding and appearance; the powertrain with 135 hp and 300 Nm is unchanged. That is not the power of the 1.2-liter three-cylinder, because it only functions as a generator. The Nismo uses Nissan’s e-power powertrain. The petrol engine charges a small battery, which in turn feeds the electric motor. Funnily enough, you cannot charge the car at a charging station.

In addition to a more aggressive body kit with red accents and an F1 brake light, Nismo places a sportier interior with Recaro seats, Alcantara grips on the steering wheel and carbon fiber (look) materials. A set of red belts completes it all. Do not expect that the lukewarm hatchback will also make the crossing to the Netherlands, unfortunately. However, a Nissan Qashqai with a similar e-power powertrain is coming to our country.
