Obesity would be a more aggravating risk factor than a sedentary lifestyle, according to the results of a study published in the medical journal Internal Journal of Epidemiology. Watching your weight and eating a balanced diet would reduce the risk of premature death.
L’obesity and a sedentary lifestyle are two aggravating risk factors for chronic diseases and premature death. Researchers at UmeÃ¥ University (Sweden) carried out a large study of 1,317,713 men over an average of 29 years to estimate, from obé sity or sedentariness, which of the two was more dangerous for health. To do this, scientists assessed the ability aerobic (or VMA) some participants. The results of their experiment showed that participants in the highest aerobic capacity (in the highest 25% scores), have a 48% lower risk of death from all causes, compared to those in the lower ability group (i.e. scores among the 25% lowest).
They also observed that normal-weight volunteers, regardless of their fitness level, obviously had a lower risk of premature death, compared to obese participants. its and that the relative benefits of physical exercise are greatly reduced in overweight and obesity. And, in cases of extreme obesity, playing sports even seems without any benefit. All of the results of this study should therefore be qualified since they are based on only one factor.
However, physical inactivity remains a public health problem

Physical inactivity is today the 4th risk factor for mortality in the world afterhigh blood pressure, the smoking and diabetes.
