In front of the organ donation shortage, from researchers Americans have developed a new 3D printer capable of recreating human organs made of stem cells. For now, from muscular, of the’bone and the cartilage of an ear have been grafted Has laboratory mice and rats.
Until today, the creation of these human tissues at full size did not survive the graft.
But this new printer can give us hope … It indeed makes it possible to reproduce at the same time, a gel containing cells and a biodegradable plastic (polymer) serving as a structure for the graft.
Once the implants inserted under the skin of the rodents, it took only 2 weeks for nerve endings, 2 months to see the formation of ear cartilage and 5 months to see bone to train and vascularize.
The team of researchers, funded by the US military, hopes that this new invention will be operational within 2 years.
