To help the French buy a vehicle allowing access to ZFEs (low emission zones), an experimental zero-rate loan has just been put in place. But only a few electric or plug-in hybrid cars are eligible for new ones. The argus reveals the list to you.
With the proliferation of low-emission zones, your old car will soon no longer be able to enter the city center where you go to work? To help you change vehicles, a zero loan rate has just been put in place. It may be granted from 1er January 2023 and reach up to €30,000, with a maximum repayment term of up to seven years. It can also be used to finance the first rent plus a long-term rental, with an amount then capped at €10,000. You will even be exempted from file or expert fees. But this aid, which is for the moment only a two-year experiment, is also accompanied by numerous restrictions, like the conversion bonus. In particular, it is reserved for natural persons whose reference tax income per share does not exceed €14,000, as well as for certain micro-enterprises. It is also not available in all ZFEs, but only in those where air quality standards are regularly exceeded, such as Greater Paris, Lyon, Toulouse or Marseille.

Plug-in hybrid or electric imposed
Finally, even if it applies to both new and used, this zero-rate loan is not intended to buy any vehicle. In addition to a weight limit of 2.6 tonnes which hardly excludes a Range Rover PHEV, it is above all necessary to respect a very low CO2 emissions threshold: 50 g/km of CO2 on the WLTP cycle. Look no further, this immediately eliminates all heat engines or simple hybrids (HEV). Only 100% electric (BEV) or rechargeable hybrid (PHEV) models are therefore eligible, even if many inhabitants of the EPZs concerned do not yet have a suitable socket to plug in their vehicle easily.
A sale price of less than €45,000
The sale price must also be less than €45,000, as in order to benefit from the maximum ecological bonus of €6,000. Forget the idea of a new Tesla Model 3, which has become too expensive since its last price increases. These criteria greatly reduce the spectrum of possibilities. Especially since we have chosen here to eliminate vans, which benefit for their part from a ceiling raised to €60,000. Even without taking into account the occasion or possible discounts, there is nevertheless a fairly wide choice in the end, especially among the Koreans Hyundai and Kia. The French manufacturers Citroën, DS, Peugeot and Renault also offer a fairly varied panel.
