There is a way to watch thousands of TV series and movies for free via YouTube, but then you have to accept some advertising.
YouTube has long ceased to be a platform where only cat videos are watched. After all, the video website can draw inspiration from the immense popularity of streaming services. So it’s no surprise that the company puts more than 4000 episodes of popular TV series in the United States online for free. There is only one small drawback: advertising.
YouTube with advertising
In the US (or possibly with a VPN) watch movies and TV series for free. According to YouTube about 4000 free episodes of shows, including Hell’s Kitchen and Midsomer Murders. There are also more than 1500 free films to watch via the new service.
But free is of course not really free, since YouTube does occasionally serve you advertising. This works similar to how regular YouTube videos show you ads; once every few minutes, an ad that may or may not be skipped appears. As with the normal platform, users with a YouTube Premium account can watch content completely without ads.
What about us?
For now, YouTube has not announced an international release of the concept. Free TV shows and movies are only available in the US at the time of writing.
It is clear that the video service wants to compete with streaming services. There will undoubtedly be a specific streaming subscription in the long run. YouTube promises to add up to 100 new episodes and movies per week to the catalog.
