Did you know that your pharmacist can help you detect the diabetes ? If not, don’t worry, you’re not alone! According to an Ifop study for Giropharm, 70% of French people are unaware that their pharmacist can help detect certain chronic diseases. The study also reveals that 35% no longer have a health record. To support patients, Giropharm pharmacists, in partnership with Biogaran, are launching the “Take charge of your health!” operation.
The survey was carried out on a sample of 1,000 people aged 18 and over, from June 5 to 9, via an online questionnaire. First of all, we see that the French feel concerned by everything related to health. Thus, out of the thirteen main controls and screenings (screening for breast cancer, monitoring cholesterol levels, screening for colorectal cancer etc), eight are known by more than 80% of French people. But only three out of ten French people really know the missions of the pharmacist.
Health quizzes in pharmacies and a health booklet for adults
Pharmacists will therefore offer in their pharmacies from September, tests and quizzes on different pathologies (diabetes, cardiovascular risks), adapted according to the patients. In terms of prevention, pharmacists recall the rules to be observed for the proper use of the drug. To support chronic illnesses, a medication plan to help patients take their treatment will also be put in place.
And since more than a third of French people say they no longer have their health record, Giropharm offers one… for adults (which does not replace the one issued at birth by the civil registrar)! This 40-page tool, in the form of a small notebook, makes it possible to compile on a medium, the patient’s personal information, the contact details of the attending physician, the vaccine reminders and health appointments for example. For the most connected, an interactive health diary is also available on the site. www.giropharm.fr.
A real essential daily health memo, the notebook indicates the right reflexes and screenings according to your age. Don’t forget, in particular, an annual visit to the gynecologist from the age of 30, a stress test for men over 35 to screen for possible coronary artery disease and monitoring of cholesterol levels, blood sugar and blood pressure from the age of 60.
And you what do you think? We talk about it on our forum?
