Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after he joked about the hair of actress Jada Pinkett-Smith, wife of Prince of Bel-Air actor, as she suffers from alopecia
- Unhappy with a joke about his wife’s hair loss, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on the Oscars stage
- Jada Pinkett-Smith’s alopecia areata, also called alopecia areata, is generally characterized by hair loss in round patches, and occurs randomly on the scalp, face or body.
- Food is an important factor in maintaining healthy hair: it is recommended to limit refined sugars and saturated fats and to favor foods rich in zinc, magnesium, iron, vitamins A and B, and antioxidants.
It’s the shocking image of this 94th edition of the Oscars which took place last night in Los Angeles… and it’s not cinema!
After Chris Rock, one of the presenters at the prestigious Hollywood ceremony, compared Jada Pinkett-Smith’s cropped hair to Demi Moore’s shaved head in the movie A Equal Arms by Ridley Scott (1997), Will Smith, came on stage and slapped him, leaving the audience flabbergasted by this gesture.
Five types of alopecia
The alopecia from which the actress suffers is an autoimmune disease which is characterized by the fall, more or less important of the hair.
Every day we lose 50 to 100 hairs, which is normal physiological hair loss. Hair loss is considered pathological when a person loses more than 100 hairs per day for a fairly long period of up to two months. There are five types of alopecia:
Hereditary androgenetic alopeciathe most common, is manifested by a decrease in hair volume, even baldness which is the ultimate development of alopecia and which affects 2% of women against 25% of men according to a survey Ifop.
Acute alopecialinked to chemotherapy treatment, stress, significant dietary deficiencies, iron deficiency or hormonal disorders.
Localized alopeciawhich can be caused by skin problems like a tumor, a burn, radiation therapy, or parasites like ringworm or fungus.
congenital alopeciathe rarest form of alopecia, due to an absence of hair roots or an anomaly in the very constitution of the hair.
alopecia areata suffered by Jada Pinkett-Smith. It appears to be of autoimmune origin; it is characterized by an attack in a more or less large “patch” and in one or more places. This form of alopecia areata can reach the whole head – we speak of alopecia totalis — and sometimes the whole body; it’s alopecia universalisand in this case, there is no longer any hair or hair on the whole body.
“This alopecia and I are going to be friends… period!”
Jada Pinkett-Smith had mentioned on instagram her alopecia, which she assumes completely. And rather to make it a complex and hide it, she chose to accept and sublimate her shaved head: “I’m going to make myself a little crown”, she announced all smiles in the video and “this alopecia and I are going to be friends… period!”
Not sure Chris Rock and Will Smith can say the same now.
