For a few months now I have been suffering from itching in the hollow of my left foot. There is nothing visible on the skin. It really comes from within. When I’m busy I don’t have any pain, but usually at the end of the day when I’m sitting and lying in bed it can be terribly itchy.
What can be done about this?

I have to admit that I can’t think of what 1-2-3 could cause itching inside your foot. When you think of itching you naturally think of quickly in the direction of an allergy, but then the itching is usually really on the skin.
What could possibly be is that the itching is coming from too much tension on your tendon plate. Sometimes this can cause a kind of irritation at the end of the day that can manifest itself as itching. It might be a good idea to try massaging your tendon plate at night to loosen it up a bit. You can do this by, for example, placing a tennis ball on the floor and rolling over it with your foot.
If the complaints persist, I would advise you to make an appointment with your doctor.
