While Volkswagen is preparing an electric sedan and station wagon for 2023, we can already get a clear idea of the design of the car which could be called ID.7. It should be visually close to the ID concept. Space Vizzion.
In 2018 and 2019, Volkswagen presented the ID concept cars respectively. Vizzion and ID. Space Vizzion foreshadowing a 100% electric sedan and station wagon. The latter, which is internally codenamed Aero B, has been officially confirmed for 2023. The sedan, which could be called ID. 7 and replace the Passat notchback, was photographed in the test partially camouflaged. These different elements make it possible to imagine with a certain precision the look of these future members of the ID range.

From the ID. Space Vizzion at ID.7
The front of the Volkswagen ID.7 should be very close to that of the ID concept. Space Vizzion. As on the ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5 therefore, we can expect to find front lights bevelled inwards and linked in their upper part by a light ring. The frontal air intake, with the very organic mesh of the ID. Space Vizzion, could be retained. In contrast, the concept’s black, hollowed-out front cover should give way to a simpler panel. Slippery lines, short overhangs, extended wheelbase (almost 3 m by about 5 m long), and “fastback” profile for the sedan are to be expected, with generous interior space and low aerodynamic drag for the benefit of autonomy.

Up to 700 km of autonomy
Like the rest of the ID family, the ID.7 will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s modular MEB platform. Technological evolution requires, it could display nearly 400 hp at the top of the range and benefit from a battery greater than 100 kWh in its best-equipped versions. Volkswagen promises a range of up to 700 km. The comfort, it will be worthy of the Phaeton. The ID.7s for Europe will be produced in Emden, Germany.
