Volkswagen is adding a mid-range Pro variant to the ID.4 catalog, with 77 kWh battery and 174 hp motor, for €47,800. The prices of the other versions increase significantly. The electric SUV now starts at €41,500.
€530 in May 2021, €700 in July 2021 and now €900 in January 2022, these are the amounts of the increases in the base price of the Volkswagen ID.4. The German electric SUV sees its starting price increase to 41 500 €, still in Pure version with 52 kWh battery and 149 hp rear motor, i.e. a small horsepower gain in passing or more precisely 0.74 kW. The increase at the start of the year even amounts to €1,000 for the second level of the range called Pure Performance, €1,050 for the Pro Performance variant, and €1,100 for the ID.4 GTX with all-wheel drive from 299 hp.
New mid-range version for the ID.4
A new powertrain, inaugurated by the ID.5, expands the range of the ID.5. Called Pro, it combines the 77 kWh battery with a 174 hp rear electric motor. Volkswagen announces a range of 511 km in the WLTP combined cycle, as much as the 204 hp Pro Performance model. These two variants, equipped with the same accumulator, are the ones that can travel the greatest number of kilometers on a charge according to the official technical sheets.
A Business finish accessible to all
Volkswagen is also launching a Business finish for professionals and individuals. It has a Mode 2 Type 2 8A charging cable and the Assistance pack as standard. including reversing camera, semi-autonomous parking, hands-free access and illuminated door handles. Asking for an additional cost of €1,550 and available with all engines, this configuration requires €150 less than the addition of this optional equipment in the rest of the range, but it is incompatible with the other equipment packs except from the Design package.
