70% of French people say they have their eyesight checked at least every two years by a qualified professional: a high figure … which nevertheless remains insufficient! In addition, in 2017, the French were “only” 45% to make a routine visit to the ophthalmologist while 62% had completed this process in 2016.
Organized by the National Association for the Improvement of Sight (AsnaV) from Thursday, October 12, 2017 to Saturday, October 21, 2017, the Vision Days allow French people to have their eyesight checked for free by an optician, with or without an appointment. .
This year (because the Vision Days have been organized every year since 2005, from the second Thursday in October), 4,500 eyecare professionals are partners in the operation: to find an optician near you, consult the online directory on the official website of AsnaV.
A free assessment to take stock of your point of view
Free, simple and quick, the test consists of an assessment of visual abilities and, if necessary, the optician can advise the person to make an appointment with an ophthalmologist. “By their proximity and their availability, opticians have the opportunity to convince the most reluctant – negligent – to be concerned about their visual health and to take all measures to preserve it by referring it to the specialist” specifies the AsnV.
“This is an opportunity, for example, to ensure that we have the visual abilities necessary to pass the driving license exam, to see that at the dawn of quarantine, presbyopia begins to develop. to feel its effects and that it is time to go to the ophthalmologist for a complete medical check-up, to check that his glasses, or his contact lenses, are still correcting his visual defect (s) ) optimally, to finally benefit from the advice of a health professional who can answer any questions that everyone has about the evolution of their sight and the means of preserving it ”add the specialists. Let’s go ?
