Notice to lovers of Italian cars well anchored in popular culture. If you have a weakness for the iconic Fiat 500 but also for the cars of the carabinieri, transalpine equivalents of our gendarmes, an ad published on the site Collecting Cars might interest you. In Lucca, a city in Italy between Florence and Pisa, there is a 1970 Fiat 500F in law enforcement colors currently offered for sale.
A 500 of intervention
According to the description of the car, it is an authentic Fiat 500 from carabinieri. The car sports the dark blue hue, the red edging and the characteristic white inscriptions. It is still equipped, on its roof, with a functional blue flashing light. It is a light brown vinyl upholstery that dresses the cabin. Well preserved, the car displays 72,947 km. But beware: the counter only has five digits and could therefore have made at least one turn.

A few hours to bid
Maintained but “in its own juice”, the car presents well. However, it is not without flaws. Its description mentions some paint touch-ups in the past, a trace of paint on the front passenger seat and a small hole in the rear seat. The steering wheel lock key is missing, but the ignition key is present. The engine has recently undergone an overhaul including the replacement of its seals, and the tires are recent.
The online auction will close on April 4, 2022 at 8:10 p.m. As of this writing, the highest bid is €9,501. This 500 may not be intended for rapid interventions, but it should certainly be able to stop the curious in its path.
