A Series 3 ready for battle
No doubt, the realization is as complete as it is artisanal. The car has been considerably raised, shod with all-terrain tires and fitted with suspension elements from other BMW models such as the E46 and E92 3 Series. Stainless steel protection plates protect its bases. It is equipped with a tubular “exoskeleton” serving as a roll bar and support for accessories such as the additional light bar and the spare wheel installed on its upper part. The passenger compartment of the car has been largely gutted and the car is fitted with a hydraulic handbrake. Under the hood, we find the four-cylinder 1.8 L M42 officially sending 140 hp and 175 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. This block is supplied with air by a raised snorkel-type air intake and equipped with a tailor-made exhaust system, which comes out of the bonnet.
An atypical vehicle at a low price
Nicknamed Stampertje, the car has been modified for use in extreme conditions and obviously has been. The fund is no longer of the first youth to believe the photos of the ad. It appears to be spared from rust, but the visible dirt could be masking slight corrosion in places. The odometer shows 245,702 km. As of this writing, the highest bid is €1,500.
