Being pregnant is not experienced the same way by all women, there is no doubt about it. According to an OpinionWay survey unveiled by the Premup foundation, a large majority of women (97%) are aware that during pregnancy, you have to take special care of yourself and the unborn baby.
Expecting a baby is not always easy and the complications can be dangerous. Remember, a pregnancy is risky when the health of the mother or the fetus is in question. If the high-risk pregnancy is not taken care of as it should, the mother-to-be may miscarry, the growth of the fetus may be slowed down, and the chances of a premature birth increase.
Thus, among the 1,000 French people surveyed, one in three women who were pregnant (19% of French women) experienced complications during her pregnancy. Despite a birth rate of lifeless children of 9.2 per 1,000 births, the survey reveals an alarming reality: 27% of women surveyed said they would be ready to forgo certain care during pregnancy for financial reasons. .
In question, the (false) idea according to which pathological pregnancies have decreased in recent years: “43% of French women think that pathological pregnancies are down compared to ten years ago and 65% estimate them at 10% and less, knowing that this perception is much more positive than the reality (about 20% each year) “.
The risks incurred during pregnancy are therefore poorly assessed by French women. The Premup foundation is organizing a morning of debates on Friday, June 7 so that specialists can give their opinion on the issue.
