It used to be, but then you could only use the Porsche Track Precision App on the track.
Most Porsche drivers will not be on the track every month. This group will therefore undoubtedly ignore the Porsche Track Precision App. A shame really, because this application has all kinds of cool functionalities. Porsche has decided to give the app a function for public roads as well. Look now the app is really useful!
With Porsche Track Precision, or PTPA as the brand also calls the application itself, mountain passes, coastal roads or other idyllic winding roads now also apply. You use the app’s Free Drive mode for that. Just explain. PTPA records a ride so you can relive it later. Great if you have driven a beautiful mountain pass, of course.
With the app it is possible to centrally store videos, lap times and data in one place. The application communicates with the vehicle via Porsche Communication Management (PCM).
PTPA is smart enough to capture a memorable moment in Free Drive mode. This characterizes the app by registering strong braking, strong acceleration or higher G-forces. Ultimately, the driver is free to choose these moments himself.
