The High Authority for Health has drawn up this draft report at the request of the Ministry of Health and the Health Insurance funds, on “the current situation and the prospects for the development of medical treatment for transsexualism in France”.
All aspects of medical care, diagnosis, hormone therapy and reassignment surgery are discussed, as well as socio-cultural and legal issues.
This draft report is the result of an analysis of the situation, during which the HAS met transexuals, health professionals and institutions.
At the end of this public consultation phase which will take place from the beginning of April to May 31, the HAS will carry out a synthesis and an analysis of the comments collected.
