For the third week of January, the influenza surveillance networks (Grog and Sentinelles) report 429 consultations for influenza states per 100,000 inhabitants throughout the territory. This incidence rate, notes the weekly bulletin, shows that the flu epidemic continues to spread but does not present “particular gravity”. The regions most affected by the flu last week, according to the Sentinelles network, were the Rhône-Alpes (666 per 100,000 inhabitants), Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Limousin, Auvergne, Provence-Côte d’Azur, Champagne regions -Ardenne, Alsace and Center.
For the Health Watch Insist (Invs), influenza was responsible for around 560,000 recourse to general practitioners and pediatricians “last week, or 20,000 more than the previous week. This increase in consultations for acute respiratory infection or influenza concerns “especially children”.
841,6000 people would have consulted a doctor in 5 weeks of epidemic, specifies the Invs. The flu has caused 15 deaths since November.
