You will learn through the Cohen method, that in case of dietary imbalance, when you eat more than what you spend, the size of the adipocytes, the fat cells, increases, the weight also and therefore we gain weight.

For a long time, we believed that our stock ofadipocytes was defined during our childhood and adolescence. It was thought that adipocytes were cells that grew and lost weight without changing their number. This assumption was wrong because the appearance of new adipocyte cells can occur throughout life.
The fat has real utility. It is an energy reserve that is strongly used in times of famine to deliver the calories necessary for survival. It is also one of the main drivers of healing.
At the time of a diet, or even from physical exercise, to compensate for the expenditure of energy, the adipocytes release their stock to be used by other cells as fuel. The volume of adipocytes has decreased, and so has the weight: we lose weight.
It is for example a frequent phenomenon at the time of pregnancy, but also on many other hormonal dates, such as menopause, taking medication, but also repeated slimming treatments.
