It’s time on Netflix for the story of Wednesday Addams, daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams. Today the premiere of the trailer.
The Addams Family appeals to the imagination. There have been films, series, computer games, but now streaming service Netflix has enlisted top director Tim Burton for a live-action series about the daughter from the Addams Family. You may know Tim Burton from gems like beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The Netflix series Wednesday consists of eight episodes and follows daughter Wednesday Addams, daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams. No longer a little girl and now a student at the Nevermore Academy. Busy with the same secrets as her parents 25 years earlier.
The original
The role of Wednesday Addams is played by Jenna Ortega. Features sleek braids and winged rose details on her dress. A modern gothic girl with the necessary mysteries to tackle.
A nice detail is that Christina Ricci, who played the role of Wednesday Addams in the original 1991 film, can also participate. Well in a different role, she plays Marilyn Thornhill. Gomez Addams is played by Luiz Guzmán and Morticia Addams is played by Catharina Zeta-Jones. Brother Pugsley is played by Isaac Ordonez.
At the beginning of June we could already enjoy a short teaser where Netflix Wednesday has her hair twisted in a braid. It is not yet known when the series will be released on Netflix. They’re announcing fall, but if we were to take a chance we’d say at the end of October around Halloween.
For now we have to make do with the extended trailer! It is already full of murder, fire and of course a hand.
